About Me After 20 years, I decided to get back into backpacking because of all my memories from my youth. Well, I did all my research on REI and purchased all the "necessary" gear from REI. I tried on the fully loaded pack (84 liters). I decided, before I could get the pack off my shoulders, that I was neither able nor willing to carry 45-50 pounds.

So, my journey into ultra-light backpacking started. I joined this forum to get informed and do my research correctly this time.

Forget it.
