Seam Sealing SpinTarps
Regardless of what brand you settle on, I encourage you to seal the seams. The seam strength of the ridgeline on the BMW Stealth Tarps is already pretty good. Seal that for water resistance. Set...

Montrail Vitesse vs. Hard Rock
Well, I never thought I'd say it as a years-long Vitesse fan but I think Montrail has created a superior shoe in the Hardrock. I am extremely disappointed by the narrower footbox, but that has m...

Canister Stove Fuel Leaks
I've experienced leaks when the stove is not screwed tightly on the canister. It can range from a rapid hiss to a slow, imperceptible bleed. The latter is the worst because you don't know it's happ...

GigaPower & Other Canister Stoves
Great thread, with good stove comments. Canister stove technical questions are probably among the most popular category of gear questions our customer support staff receives. I'd encourage an...

Unishelter & Bivies as Insulation
Paul, love your shelter system. "But it could be lighter!" Yeah, yeah, I hear (say) that all the time. But the fact remains you have a pretty killer setup for foul conditions at a very good w...

Ultralight in Ultra-Foul Conditions?
Think: steady winds in excess of 30 mph, lots of snow or sideways blowing rain, above treeline or otherwise exposed. Do you reeeeeally need a Bomber Tent? Whether your answer is yes or no, what's y...

You guys are rookies. Look at the times at which you are posting. I consumed four pieces of Jolt two hours ago and look at me, still going strong at 2 am. There is a weird flavor to it, but I ca...

Mike Clelland! GOO Energy Gel
I've used Mike's, and made my own per his recipe. It's nasty. The color, I mean. Like a pukey green. But then again, that may very well provide some of its social appeal when hiking or skiing in...
