Nice pics, gents. Care to expound on your recipe/method for bannock? It looks delicious.

Re: Pillow slipping out under my head
Yes. Take a piece of thin cord about 48" long and tie it around your sleeping pad at head level. You can connect the pillow to it via the stuff sack drawstring or if you want to get fancy, sew...

Re: Thanks!
"One of the primary reasons I love hanging is because of the flexibility it gives me to set up camp anywhere..." You'll find a tarp will let you do that in the Sierra. There's ...

Re: Hammocking in the Sierra
Bearpaw, Moraine Lake, Junction Meadow: Plenty of trees. Guitar Lake: Guitar is above treeline, there won't be anywhere to hang. You could either stop near the Crabtree Ranger Station or sta...

Re: How light can I reasonably get in a solo shelter?
A Hexamid Solo-Plus with a beak and no netting is around 7 oz. You could save quite a bit on your sleeping bag, more than on your shelter. A Katabatic Alsek would save you 8 ounces. In my opini...

Re: BMWO 2014 Swimming and Hobbling
Bravo Adam and Tanner! Thanks for the pictures and the report. It makes me shudder to think about breaking a tib/fib out there this time of year. Care to elaborate on your two-man river crossing te...

Dave, I'm glad you made it out safe and had what sounds like a good experience. Given that you saw so much snow on Badger Pass I wonder what it would've been like down by Hahn Creek or Lime...

Re: Young lakes/Conness trip memorial weekend
Nice job Chris. I passed through Tuolumne this weekend and remembered your planning thread. There was an impressive amount of snow on Conness that I saw from near Saddlebag Lake. I day hiked up to ...

Re: 4 days in the emigrant wilderness
Cool trip! So many places to explore in Emigrant. Sorry I couldn't join you guys. It looks like you caught more fish than I did over on the east side. I take it you didn't have any trouble ...

Re: Water treatment
I stopped treating my water after the first day out of sheer laziness and I didn't get sick. Lots of snowmelt and runoff that time of year to dilute the bad stuff.

zpacks Company
I had the same experience as everyone else here. Joe got me a customized piece of gear on time and was very responsive to my questions and requests. Can't do much better than that.

ULA Ohm
The Ohm is my go-to pack for trips that don't require a bear can. You can fit a Bearikade in it, but it's not very comfortable because it bulges into your back. I put a plastic frame sheet fro...
