There was quite a bit of smoke in Tuolumne and over in Lee Vining as of yesterday. I got a view south to June Lake and Mount Lyell and it was smoky there too, I'd assume no different in Mammoth...

I don't know the official LNT answer, but I always throw the guts as far as I can towards the center of the lake. Fish die in the water all the time, so I don't really think you can call it...
