My Locale Wet & Humid Southeast....
About Me I have been backpacking a little over 3 years now, but in that time I have logged a number of trail miles and went through a lot of gear trying to find my sweet spot. Now, thanks to cuben fiber, alcohol stoves, down and of course a better understanding, my TPW has severly dropped! My cold weather BPW is 9 - 10 lbs and my warm weather BPW is 5 - 6 lbs.
About 95% of the time I hike with family or friends and in the SouthEastern states. My favorites places to get away are anywhere along the AT as well as in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Re: RE: video, ground cloth
I think that a sil version would work just fine, especially if you added the tie-outs like what is on the ones that Joe makes. Then the tie-outs would hold it in place for the most part. However, a...

Hi. I am also here in the Southeast. The best layering system that I have found that works for me while hiking is a Cap 2 long sleeve crew as a base layer and then my R1 Flash Pullover on top. The ...

Re: MB Alpine Light Parka - overkill warmth or OK?
I can't say for on the PCT, but here in the SouthEast...no way is it coming with me on a hike...it is just way too much. I use a wide variety of top layers to stay warm while on the trail. M...

I had a Lumix FH20 and I was quite pleased with the camera. I got it on sale for just over $100, however, I was not as protective of it as I should have been...got a small scratch on the lens after...

Great service and quick shipping for me
I bought a GoLite Poncho tarp from them a while back when they were all sold out at GoLite. This place seemed like the only place that had them "in stock." However, before placing the ord...

Re: Re: How the he$$%#% do you manage your lanyard kit
The way I saw it, I was already carrying these items anyway. To me, putting it all together on a length of cord was a great way to keep up with these smaller items. And while I was at it, I could k...
