About Me Things I do: hike, camp, packraft, dive, XC ski

Things I'd like to do: easy rock climbing and canyoneering, more winter camping, more off-trail trips, and learn to telemark ski (it just looks so swooshy and cool). also, packraft MOAR.

Things I don't do: run, unless a rugby ball is in the vicinity. bike, unless it's casual, commuting, low-speed, or otherwise not hardcore.

Re: Rambling the High Sierra
This was very good. How cold are those lakes? I know people swim in them (briefly) but have never heard of anyone swimming across them as a planned strategy.

Re: Re: Water treatment
That's what I was thinking. One of Dan's reports mentions he lost his water bottle mid-way and didn't get sick. Thanks for the data point!

Re: Hmmmm....
Yeah, a cuben hex tarp would cut that in half. The hammock setup itself still weighs over 2.5 lbs, though. A full system slightly over 3 pounds isn't bad if it could be used year round.

Re: This is new! Is good or is it bad?
Kinda heavy, but it looks hella comfortable. As a curled-up side sleeper, the usual holy grail of hammock comfort, the asym flat lay, is sort of lost on me.

I demand you leave the selling price up. I have some hills I'm not using and I need to know what the fair going price is these days.
