My Locale The Sierras
About Me I usually plan 2- 3 weekend trips in the Sierras a year and try to do one 'long' hike a year. I really like the Central part of the Sierras.

FS Montrail Shoes
I too would like the model names or numbers, please. I loved my Montrail AT Pluses and they don't make them anymore. Trying to find a suitable replacement. Thanks!

Sleep comfort: Neoair Alternative?
Here's another vote for the Exped Synmat UL7. I've had mine for 3 hiking seasons, no leaks, great 3-season warmth and comfort. I too tried the Neo and returned it for the Synmat. Bonus scor...

2013 JMT List [changes from my '12 hike

"JMT Next Summer"
+1 On the Atlas. Fits in your pocket just fine. I find a mosquito net lighter, less slimy, and more useful than repellant, just my 2 cents. Not sure about what you mean on 'rope', but you d...

Zimmerbuilt Half-Dome, modified
I have owned many packs with some features I liked and dis-liked on each one, so I decided to give the custom order pack method a shot. After a less than pleasant experience with Kooka bay, I went int...
