Re: Lightweight boots
The La Sportiva Hyper Mid GTX is another very good LW boot though perhaps at a higher price point than you want. Five Ten just updated their infamous Guide Tennie with a Mid option too. New sol...

Re: houdini NOT!
If you want to lighten up, my advise is to get the MB Versalite jacket/pants ~11oz set and to leave the windshirt at home. With its long 300mm pitzips the Versalite jacket is functionally similar t...

Re: Dims
Hmmm, so basically a boxy large. Something about the weight seems little "off" though given your 4oz fill weight when compared to other 10D parkas. Would expect something closer to ~10oz....

Re: Echo Vest
Again, another piece that leaves me puzzled. Other than PERHAPS being more packable, how can the Echo function any better than a cheap 100wt fleece vest, Piton Hybrid-like vest or a thin MB Thermaw...

Re: Alpha is a better mousetrap
I have gone back and forth on this. Like the concept but put off by the total weight of the jackets which so far all seem to heavier than a typical 100wt fleece w/UL wind jacket or most of the synt...

Re: Re: pound for pound
Yes, it may be unpleasant to hear but at 6' 250lbs, if your goal is a better hiking experience you will be better served by dropping 70lbs in body weight than spending money trying to shave 20l...
