My Locale Northern Minnesota
About Me I have been backpacking for over 30 years, all over California, plus many western states and Minnesota. I hike year-round in all weather, and average 500+ miles (800+ km) per year. I make a point of using lightweight gear, and smaller volume packs. Doubting I can ever be truly UL, I try to be as near to it as I can yet still be comfortable. I start early and hike hard so as to enjoy the afternoons exploring/chilling. I usually take a freestanding tent and enjoy hot meals at night. If not hiking solo I am usually with brother-in-law Dave.

dry?
It was dry Jerry. I was not directly on the pad this time as I was using a bag and over-quilt combo. But just about everything else had frost on it that my breath vapor touched. Ha, my eyelashes...

Quick Quilt Size
I am 6' 3" and a side sleeper too. All of my quilts (6) are between 70" - 72" inside length. I don't want my quilt over my head, just tucked to my chin.

freezing
No problem Nick. After I wrote that I realized it sounded like I was being snarky. Sorry. Actually I am sure that the moisture will freeze more after getting off the pad, but where it touches th...

dilemma
I only carry alcohol when using most of my Caldera systems. I know that should something happen I can use wood for back-up. When using the Sidewinder for wood-only use I did carry a single Esbit...

What's up with that?
It is about blowing them up and introducing moisture day after day when it is below freezing. Not being a wimp. How much water do you think you add blowing up a large Xtherm? Now it collects and fr...

Will you freeze?
Do you have an under-quilt, or is the ZLite Sol it? If just the pad I think you will freeze. ;-)
