site selection
I prefer a slight slope feet to head to avoid water run off and since I use a short NEO pad my feet drop lower off the end, result is almost level sleep position.

Maybe...
Warm air of breath going in cools, contracts, resulting in softer pad......maybe. Leave a weight on the inflated pad for 24 hours to see if the loss of firmness bottoms out.

summerlite weight
My summerlite weighted 19.85 oz.......... until I put it in a dryer (on low heat) then it weighted 19 oz. Humidity also affects clothing items in a similar way.
