For one person (6' tall or under) probably a duomid. For two the Ultamid for sure as the duo is too small for two comfortably. The Ultamid is a hair longer too I think so if you are over 6...

Silk weight became Cap1 Lightweight became Cap 2 mid weight became Cap 3 Expedition weight became Cap 4 I only started backpacking in 2003 so I don't know about before then.

The "normal" use (for us backpackers) is as a pack liner in leu of a pack cover. Getting unscented ones is important (and harder to find).
