About Me I now have my base weight down to 12 pounds. I'm fine with that. Any lighter seems to make for a less comfortable trip. I'm in my 50's now and looking forward to some epic thru-hikes.

New Scout Plus UL2 looks Pretty Sweet.
I like that they brought the poles outside. That gives a lot of usable space on the inside. The weight is pretty nice too for a two person tent.

I agree with you Bill
I picked up the Helios here on Gear Swap a couple years back. I find the length of the jacket to be about 4-inches to short in the back. When I wear it I find myself pulling the back down to keep...

Carbon Fiber Poles?
I wonder if more weight can be saved by sending the poles to Ruta Locura and getting a set of carbon poles made. I did that with my Fly Creek 2 and dropped 4.5 ounces. The sad think is I've n...

Sco Jo, Have you tried any shoes/boots made by Keen? I'm the same as you. When I hike in soft trail running shoes for beyond four days the lower back of my heels get these nasty deep blist...
