Boys and their toys....
29ers are so 2011. You should have gotten a 650B. And I bought a GoPro Hero, but then realized I don't do anything exciting to film with it.

Summer bag + VBL for 3 seasons
It's pretty easy to extend your summer bag by using it for a quilt, and wearing clothes/insulating layers. Using it in a bivy is also good for several degrees colder. Less sweaty that a VBL too.

I'm a girl, and I don't make heat. It sucks." Sleeping bag opinions for super cold sleepers
Sounds more like a test of thermal storage, rather than insulation.

Texas/Oklahoma/Arkansas GGG this fall?
I'm 6 hours SW of OKC, so that only puts me 11 hours from the Ouichitas. Looks like I'll be watching where Eugene goes, although I'm pretty tired of hiking without water.

Grizzly Kills Lone Hiker in Denali
Agree with Ray. I think I would have been telling people "that tiny dot in the picture is a grizzly bear! No, really!".

Romney/Ryan 2012
Everyone conveniently forgets that the Dems had majority control of the House and Senate for 4 years, and didn't act on any grand plans (including the last 2 Bush years). I'm going to vote ...

Leg Cramps
S-Caps are awesome for cramps; you can find them online. But my guess would be, in the situation you describe, that your cramps have nothing to do with hydration or electrolyte levels. You can also...

I use the pre-cooked, unrefrigerated bacon all the time. Usually make sure we eat the whole package the day it is opened. Cheapest at Sam's Club.

Marmot Atom Mens Regular 40 Degree
Nice bag. 1/2 zipper is kind of a pain, and makes it hard to use as a quilt. Seems true to rating.

ULA Catalyst
Replaced my Exos 58 with this, much more comfortable, with more weight. Got a deal on a 2008 model, and added the dual stays. A lot bigger pack than I'll use most of the time. Gained some weight o...

ULA Circuit
Switched to this for more durability, and the ability to carry more water in the desert. Works like a champ, and you couldn't ask for better customer service.

I have to ding it a little for the hip belt. I think the hip belts on the large runs small, because it didn't wrap around me enough to be effective. And that may not be fair to ding it, because al...

Golite Ultra 20
Mine kept me warm in the upper 20s, so I'm happy. I'm not completely sure it would reach 20, and keep you warm for 8 hours. But it's a great product for a great price.
