For Summer use, do you overheat with high R value pads?
Would like to use same high R value inflatable pad all year around. Does anyone find themselves overheating with high R value pads in summer?

Re: Re: Which Exped MW? Taper worth weight savings? Exped correct R values?
Thanks DD, the earlier R value being a target value makes sense. I've slept on a borrowed Downmat 7 in winter - pure bliss. I'd just like a pad that's wide without being so long...

carbon vs. al poles; handle material absorbing shock? hybrid poles
My concern is more about breaking a pole during hiking so that it can't support a shelter - less concerned about pole breaking during shelter support. It's just so damn easy to kick a pole ...

Which Exped MW? Taper worth weight savings? Exped correct R values?
I've preferred the Exped baffle orientation in the past - the edges of the NeoAir I find collapse too easily and I fall off - so I just tried a NeoAir again, and still prefer the Exped baffles....

Re: t2 plus: ruined?
@Diane, agreed about tents that are much narrower at foot end with walls that slope too far inward. That's true of the new REI Qaurterdome 2 and 3. However, REI just made a plenty large new bat...

Could we please add a new Forum for the The Natural World, for discussion of flora, fauna, geology?
Just wanted to suggest adding a new Forum topic entitled The Natural World, for discussion and photos of flora, fauna and geology? Many times I'd like to ID a plant or animal or rock/geological...
