the graphs are actually extremely useful as a general guide ... namely that having 2 thinner layers rather than one thick layer, the condensation will more likely get trapped between the layers ...

Most of us here are sane enough not to go for hiking in the rain. Most of us here are fair weather backpackers with underlying UL currents. Rain jackets get used on low intensity for camp chores...
