My Locale Minnesota
About Me 43, and in some of the best shape of my life after losing 50 lbs a couple years ago. I've always loved getting "out there" and backpacking is one of my preferred ways. I spend as much time as I can backpacking and car camping with my kids during the Summer. I'm an avid target shooter and enjoy kayaking with my family, ATVing and snowmobiling, and just about anything that get's me in the outdoors.

Re: Re: Re: Murmur -- Does its Hip Belt Work?
I'll echo Bob's thoughts. I like the Murmur and have mostly used it for day hikes or 1 nighters. The hipbelt does what it's meant to, which is just to keep it from bouncing too much. ...

Re: Quilts
+1 on everything Scott said about Enlightened Equipment, I have 2 of his quilts and they are spectacular. I'll very likely be buying a third as soon as the "Enigma" is available. I ...

I find (for my kids) that a 35L Jam in size Small makes a great kids pack. My 9 year old daughter has been using it for 2 years now and loves it. Inexpensive enough as far as lightweight packs go...

I ordered a cuben SoloMid a week ago with the perimeter net option, I didn't even know this StS Nano Net existed. This seems a better solution than the perimeter netting, leave the door open o...

Montbell
+1 on the Montbell filter. I tried it on a whim and used it the last 2 weekends, it produced a decent cup, better than Via for sure, through a lot heavier packing in the ground coffee. I strugg...

Enigma Updates
Hi Tim, any updates for us on the Enigma? I'm sure I'm not the only one excited by and interested in it. Patiently (not so much) waiting to see it on your site. Thanks Art

Solomid floor?
Randy, what are you using for your Solomid floor? It almost looks like a good bathtub design. Thanks Art

EE Quilt
Have you considered a quilt from Enlightened Equipment? I converted to quilts 2 years ago and haven't looked back. Easy to vent, warm, lighter than comparative bag.

Enlightened Equipment Revelation X
This was my first quilt, and I couldn't be happier. I needed a new cold weather bag, so I went with the 20F 6' Wide and had the 30% over stuff. The loft on this quilt is incredible, more tha...

gossamer murmur
I would have liked to give the 2012 Murmur a 4.5 if I could have. My only criticism is that the stitching is not as well done as I would have expected. There were a few loose threads in some of the ...
