Gear weight rules :-)
Hi Simon, I don't understand exactly but you'll see how I address this in my gear list (under my name next to this message). For poles, it's listed under "worn or in hands"...

Which stove do you use most?
Really varies by the trip but here's my standard go-to stoves: SUL solo- either a MiniBull Designs alcohol stove or a BPL esbit stove (or nothing if I'm really pushing it) 2 person ba...

Re: Re: Keeping legs dry with poncho
Just like the comments above, I use nada in warm weather except for Montbell UL windpants and a Montane or Golite windshirt under the top. Sometimes I'll swap in a pair of chaps or Golite Reed...

Re: Cocoon UL 60 pants
I do. They're choice. Very warm and comfortable. I found the earlier generation to be sized large but I think this has now been addressed.

Re: Re: Re: that eVENT tent
Fibraplex would certainly work in this application and would ligten things up a bit but won't be as stiff and strong as the orginal Easton poles. You can see a great comparison of Easton 707...

Re: Re: cold weather stove
I also use a Coleman Xtreme. Alchohol is out. Esbit takes forever to melt snow. Standard canisters drop pressure. White gas needs priming. But the Xtreme is a melting machine, requires no prim...
