About Me I backpack and packraft, and sometimes teach both. I bicycle and ride a motorcycle. Sometimes I run. Sometimes I do Yoga. I have wilderness medical and whitewater rescue training. I can be a bit of a gear junky, although I seem to read more and buy less these days.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Hypothermia
I gave factual information. It comes from the Wilderness Medicine Institute/NOLS and Rescue 6 International (whitewater/swiftwater rescue trainers). What you posted says the same thing I did. 32...

Re: Thanks
I wouldn't use the inner for 2 big guys. It's fine for a couple that sleeps close or maybe one person and a dog and palatial for one person alone.

Re: RAB Infinity vs OR Incandescent
I also have an Infinity (Endurance version). Specs alone make it lighter and warmer (more fill and at a higher fill power). I'm 5'8 with a long torso and the men's small covers my ba...

Re: Re: Re: Hypothermia
Even the site you linked directly to states a healthy adult can survive 2 hours while treading water @ 50 F. That's without a PFD. Thanks for reinforcing my point. Can you get hypothermia in...

Re: bags
"In my experience, the lower fill quality suffers less loft loss from humidity than the 900+ does" That's more or less fact. To get the higher FP they have to remove more of the na...

Re: WTB locus gear CP2 flip lock trekking poles

Re: BD Alpine Carbon Cork 2012 vs 2013
I haven't seen the new version, but I know Skurka uses and loves the previous model and they're a bit lighter. That's enough endorsement for me.

Re: not a framesheet
Interesting. I just talked to Mike two days ago about a custom pack and he made no mention of it. I'll never use the capacity of the 4400, so it never made sense for me. I'll also never...
