if you decide to go with your plan to take a bus to Mammoth and then YARTS from Mammoth the next morning ... one of the YARTS bus stops is at the McDonalds (actually the hotel next door). across ...

I think by next year most elite runners who seriously go after the supported record will start employing the single runner multiple pacer method. maybe not quite in the full spirit of a wilderness...
