My Locale Midwest
About Me I am in my late-40's and really got interested in backpacking about 10 years ago as a way to have some concentrated time with my boys, now all finishing up high school or in college. I try to get out a few times a year, including a bi-annual trip to Colorado for some of the big stuff. Otherwise I am stuck in the very boring midwest where everything exciting is a good day's drive away.

I need another cook kit like a hole in the head but the kit you're selling is very sharp and a great price from what I can tell. I'm going to hold off for now. Good luck!

Nick, very nice kit. I am tempted. What's the weight on it all? Also, does the cup require a band to sit on the cone at the proper height or just as is?

Adidas Climalite
Hey Justin, I looked up the Adidas Climalite's because I liked the idea of a 90% cotton/10% spandex brief and all I could find on their website was a 91% polyester/9% elastan combination. Are ...

+1 on the MSR Flex skillet
+1 on the MSR Flex skillet. I've used it to fry mountain trout and make tortilla pizza's. Completely non-stick and I believe 8 oz with a handle. Wish it had a lid but doesn't.

For 7 oz my 'sit on the ground comfortably' strategy is to hang in my Nano 7. It is super comfortable as a chair and provides the dual benefit of allowing me to swing my legs up and get so...

Early on in my hiking journey I wouldn't say anything to people that I would see in the afternoon walking to a peak above treeline in flip flops carrying only a bottle of water. I assumed they...
