Deep vein thrombosis? Trying to decide if I should be scared. I crashed my mountain bike a week ago, and managed to hit my calf on the pedal. Extremely hard. I would have cried, but I was afraid so...

Romney/Ryan 2012
No way to ever balance the budget without massive cuts in spending. Unless you seize the assets of everyone considered rich, that would do it. Until the next budget cycle. The US can't continue...

This is violating my never post in chaff policy, but I'll bite. What's Austrailian voting? What's the Citizens United case? What's the difference in a moderate Republican a...

One of my favorite memories of this election will be an Isreali jounrnalist consistently making donations to Obama from Pakistan, using the name Osama bin Laden and pre-paid debit cards, and then r...

It's a sad day when a desire for self-sufficiency and being fiscally conservative gets you labeled "extreme".

No, but I had intended to buy stock in the company that makes it. Oops, gave away my party affiliation, huh? I think my oldest son's proudest moment was getting a copy of Halo 3 the day before...

Guadalupe Mountains NP - November
Can't believe I just saw this. Too bad we're supposed to take out scouts on a McKittrick Canyon-Ridge-Dog Canyon overnight this weekend. Doubt if I could do the 15-20 miles a day either. Pr...

Marmot Atom Mens Regular 40 Degree
Nice bag. 1/2 zipper is kind of a pain, and makes it hard to use as a quilt. Seems true to rating.

Replaced my Exos 58 with this, much more comfortable, with more weight. Got a deal on a 2008 model, and added the dual stays. A lot bigger pack than I'll use most of the time. Gained some weight o...

ULA Circuit
Switched to this for more durability, and the ability to carry more water in the desert. Works like a champ, and you couldn't ask for better customer service.

Golite Ultra 20
Mine kept me warm in the upper 20s, so I'm happy. I'm not completely sure it would reach 20, and keep you warm for 8 hours. But it's a great product for a great price.
