About Me Hey, I'm looking for tips to go lighter and ideas for more trips. I've only been backpacking for 4 years and just recently realized my pack could've been MUCH lighter. I usually do two 9 day trips, three 5 day trips and a few weekend trips a year so I'd like to make the most out of the little time I have. I need to branch out of the same 'ol romps I frequent.

Re: Where do you draw the line and how do you get your point across?
I think we can all have lines and share the lines. Maybe I'll draw that same line you have or you'll draw a line from mine. I don't think that explaining your views makes you "holi...

Re: beaked tarps: a reasonable solution for muliple environments?
I'm in the same boat as you are right now. What I've started doing is I've set up a word doc with columns noting manufacturer, price, weight and features. I'm in the market for a ba...

For the heads up on the gear deal (serious comment). What size are the neoairs? It ranges greatly in weight from 16 oz to 26 oz. I'm guessing a 19 oz reg?

Re: RE:Jacket for 32 Degrees at Camp
+1 on the baselayer, montbell u.l. down inner jacket, and windshirt. I just use a wool long sleeve for about total of 14 oz. Or you could get the alpine montbell it's a bit thicker, warmer, and...

I used a prolite 3 for years (12-13 oz) and thought it was comfortable enough until I got a neoair. I love that I don't have to fuss anymore about clearing every stick and stone before i set up ca...
