ULA - best in my experience
I agree that the catalyst is probably too large, but ULA makes some of the best packs available for the UL market. Certainly others are lighter. I carried the SMD Starlite on a JMT thru-hike and...

Falling asleep on the trail
Interesting thread. I had great difficulty sleeping on the final 3 days of a 10-day JMT thru-hike because of the pad and the fact I had lost weight and body fat and I couldn't find a comfortabl...

ULA packs are superb
I recommend ULA. I have the Conduit and the Amp. Most comfortable packs I have carried in 48 years of backpacking. Great quality, fair price.

Wonderland Trail: circumnavigation around Mt. Rainier
I completed an outstanding thru-hike on the Wonderland Trail starting at White River Campground on July 28 and finishing back at my truck on August 2nd. There was a little snow but I had no difficu...

Mt. Rainier - Northern Loop
Nice photos Mark. I have a permit for the Wonderland Trail beginning on July 28th. I am hopeful a lot of the snow will have melted by then.
