My Locale Extreme northern Sierra Nevada
About Me I'm almost 60, single male. I had been in Retail Management for over 30 years. I have mostly solo bped since the early mid '70's. I XC some, not afraid to go alone, I also solo winter camp, have been out in sub-zero temps too. I recently went on a backcountry bp to Alaska with five others into Wrangell/St. Elias NP. Since early 2010, I have been collecting vintage/antique camping and bp stoves, having acquired 65 now. I like many outdoor activities, from bping to dirtbike riding, gardening. I cut my own firewood too.

out of curiousity
I toss and turn, wake up often, same as at home. No noise from the old NeoAir, what, going into 4th season now. I must USE it enough that it makes no noise. I bought a new XTherm, it has some no...

Is a thermarest "Neo-Air" actually worth the price difference?

Is a thermarest "Neo-Air" actually worth the price difference?
Late chiming in. The NeoAir has been the most comfortable for me. I'm a side sleeper and toss and turn. I think it is the direction the tubes go, not so much the pad itself. I have the origi...

Sleeping in the Sierra's in early June
I've taken my Caribou with a silk liner to 28-30F a few times and was fine. In fact just two years ago at Vidette Meadow it was 30 or so, I had no issues and I was 57 at the time. I go with th...
