My Locale Colorado Rockies
About Me I'm 45 years old, 6'4" and 195 lbs. I've backpacked in the Colorado Rockies, the Wasatch and Uinta mountains, and in Zions National Park. I mountain bike in the Colorado Rockies. I've kayaked in Yellowstone and on Flaming Gorge, and rafted the Green, Colorado and Snake rivers. My trips are usually a week long or less. I love to hike wherever I can. I'm an Assistant Scout Master and I'm often out with the Scouts. My immediate goal is to thru-hike the Colorado trail. I've lived in Utah, Ohio, Illinois, Argentina, California, and Colorado.

Re: How about Ibex?
Definitely consider Ibex. I think they are the best. I only look to other companies when Ibex doesn't have what I want, which is very rare. They are the only company in this market I know of us...

Re: Cocoon UL pant vs. Monbell Inner Pant
John, I think the Cocoon pant will be warmer than the Down Inner pant. I've tried on the Down Inner pant, the Thermawrap pant and the Cocoon pant. The Cocoon has more loft than the others. My s...

Re: UL60 Cocoon Pants availability
Miguel, I would second Kevin's thought. I ordered a large in the Cocoon Pants. I tried them on last night and realized an XL would fit me better. They were just a little snug around my upper le...

Re: Freedoms and night vision.
Like Kevin, I carry the white and the night vision green (NVG) Photon Freedoms. I also carry the red because the red and the NVG combined make a pretty decent white light. So, if I need a lot of li...
