My Locale Central Texas
About Me I have been backpacking on and off in the western US since college in the early 1970's. Summer 1970 a bunch of us spent a week in the Three Sisters Wilderness in Oregon barefoot with blankets, book bags, and no proper gear at all. Now I coordinate youth backpacking for our Camp Fire council, and enjoy taking the kids to the mountains. I hope to take up more long distance walking after retirement.

Gatewood max height?
Depends on how high of a pole or stick you put up, and how long the stake cords are. With the cords supplied with it, maybe 6" if your pole or stick is long enough. I find there's a lot ...

netting sources
Thanks for the possible netting sources! A web search mostly turns up finished products. I'll post when I have some progress on getting something made.

We (2 of us) normally backpacking with an 8 x 10 ID flat tarp. We sleep under the stars if we can, but sometimes it looks like rain (or actually rains!) or it's too cold or windy, so we always...
