About Me Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 257 in the Ventura County Council, California with 13 years experience. He has participated in numerous hikes in the local mountains and has planned many treks into the High Sierras for his Troop. He attended Philmont Scout Ranch as a Scout 1970 and as a leader 2002, 2005, and most recently in 2007. He will be attending Philmont in 2008 & BPL Trek 1 course in Utah with plans for John Muir Trail trek in 2009.

Looks like a good general light gear list. Watch the weight on the sleeping bag (~2lbs), pack (<2lbs, rain gear, & group gear (tents, pots, stoves, etc.)

Solo Tents
Almost all of the rangrs are using solo tents. As long as they are located around the other tents there should not be a problem.
