any decent light stretch woven softshell ... durable light breathable quick drying if it gets cold simply wear a thicker long john under ;)

its a bit more than a fad, the R1 has been around for awhile as has the T3 not to mention that the old stodgy US Army uses em ... they work, plain and simple ;)

you have discovered why grid fleeces are so commonly used amount climbers these days - excellent wicking due to reduced contact surface and dual component construction ... also dries quickly due...

- use seam grip where the mesh has worn thin and put some repair tape/patches on it .. trim the patches so that they have rounded edges - use seam grip where the mesh and suede are separating .....

Montbell Extremely Light Down Jacket
the key to using this jacket is to use it under a windshell or synthetic jacket like a nanopuff by itself the shell is fairly fragile, there are no pockets, there is no waist string ... however ...
