My Locale John Sixbey hasn't told us about their geographical region yet.
About Me I grew up in Alaska & now live in NW Washington. Whenever I get a break from working, studying, volunteering, & the rum-tum normal everyday stuff, I like hitting the trail or climbing wall. Family fits in there too.

I've only seen a space blanket get used once: my dad forgot to unpack his sleeping bag after the previous trip, and it had lost its loft. He didn't find out until we were on a mountain top ...

light, but no zip
I use Cabela's Ultrapack. I don't have a scale, but I'm 99% sure they're lighter than the jacket, which is 8 oz. They don't have a zip, but they do have a drawstring.

I believe my wife has that pack, or one very similar. Yes, the shape of the frame prevents keeping the heavy items close the back. She tells me she likes keeping heavy items low so the weight is ca...

I heard of something called a "ratsack" that might work. It's supposed to be made of metal mesh that's rodent proof. I haven't seen it, but it's supposed to be lighter tha...

I've tried leaving my lenses in overnight, but my eyes often get crusty & dry while sleeping, and this apparently made me misplace a lens in my eye. It shoved itself way up in there and too...
