If you're leaning towards M55 from thru-hiker you should seriously consider SevenD from Titanium Goat instead. By all accounts it is softer and it is lighter.

Going under 3 oz. for a cuben pack is extremely easy so to me 8 oz seems like a ton. Those 5 oz are better spent elsewhere like for me adding a kitchen and 2" air mattress for full comfort SUL.
