About Me I now have my base weight down to 12 pounds. I'm fine with that. Any lighter seems to make for a less comfortable trip. Just turned 50 and looking forward to some epic thru-hikes.

Showers Pass
I have a biking jacket from Showers Pass that's made of eVent. It cost around $250....love that jacket. It breaths great. I ride all year in Seattle with it...while not when it's hot out.

Exped Air Pillow @ REI
I like this 3 oz pillow from REI. I believe it weighed 3.15 on my scale. I throw a shirt over it to make it 'softer'. http://www.rei.com/product/797662

Tyvek Booties with Vynal Bottom
I bought the booties from USPlastic.com. I bought around 5 pairs. I've used them once so far and enjoyed how easy they are. They're not TEVA's or sandles, but work great for my need....

Cotton....YES
I've been fortunate enough to travel to 14 African countries with over a total of 1 year there. It can get miserably hot and all I wear is cotton. I've tried the breathable polyster/nylon...

How about a Vest?
It sounds like a vest would be perfect for what you're after. Find one with a 30 denier fabric. That should be durable enough.
