Thermawrap v MicroPuff
Fit might be another factor to look at. The Thermawrap parka is cut a little tighter in the hips than the MicroPuff parka. I don't know if the fit is the same in their vest lines.

Windshirt still needed with eVent jacket?
I've only used a wind shirt for about a year (Houdini), after learning about them here on BPL. I've often looked at it and wondered if I really needed to bring both it and my eVENT rain ja...

Easing the pain of age
I thought that would get some reaction! However, you have to realize that Baby Brother's idea of roughing it is no microwave. I can run circles around him on any terrain. I just need my Big ...

Trail food without a dehydrator
Douglas - you don't really need a dehydrator to prepare food for the trail. I'm one of Sarah's many fans, using her freezerbag style of preparing dinners, but I don't own a dehydra...

I had a similar experience to David's. They sent the inferior space blankets, rather than the correct order, took forever to send a return UPS shipping label, and only yesterday admitted to recei...

Boomer's Guide to Lightweight Backpacking by Carol Corbridge
I was very disappointed in this book. Luckily, I didn't buy it but had checked it out from the library. For starters, the book is in major need of copy editing. There are lots of awkward sent...
