About Me Things I do: hike, camp, packraft, dive, XC ski

Things I'd like to do: easy rock climbing and canyoneering, more winter camping, more off-trail trips, and learn to telemark ski (it just looks so swooshy and cool). also, packraft MOAR.

Things I don't do: run, unless a rugby ball is in the vicinity. bike, unless it's casual, commuting, low-speed, or otherwise not hardcore.

Re: Tarp Pitch - Trekking Pole point UP or DOWN
I prefer point down. Keeps mud and rodents away from the handles and provides extra stability on ground where I can push the tip in. On tarps with grommets and certain tents with grommets/cups/patc...

Karhu XCD Traverse boots, 3-pin
These are on ebay from time to time. Forum search here doesn't give me much. Anyone used them and have some feedback? They seem similar to the Fischer BCX 675 or Rossingol BCX11.

Re: Collecting versus Hoarding
Hoarding is a hygeine and safety hazard. Collecting is, "I have 514 Longaberger baskets but you aren't allowed to use any of them." Entropy and anxiety is, "Holy shit, I...
