My Locale WNC
About Me I backpack and packraft, and sometimes teach both. I bicycle and ride a motorcycle. Sometimes I run. Sometimes I do Yoga. I have wilderness medical and whitewater rescue training. I can be a bit of a gear junky, although I seem to read more and buy less these days.

I second Ben @ GooseFeet if you want custom and made local. For off the shelf, Rab will be hard to beat. My Infinity Endurance has 7.5 oz fill and weighs about 16 oz (small). You may also want to c...

Re: Where Did Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Go?
What you burn is largely tied to your HR. In an aerobic state, you're burning fat and carbs (ratio varies depending on what your body is trained for). At the point you go anaerobic (which is on...

Hmm...was he allergy tested for all nuts? The reason I ask is technically neither peanuts or cashews are nuts. Both of those are legumes and a common allergy. I don't think (haven't researc...

Re: bonk
Bonking requires depleting your glycogen stores. If you're moving efficiently, you shouldn't be burning a lot of carbs, and you definitely shouldn't be depleting your stores.
