My Locale West
About Me Long time backpacker, peak climber, outdoor educator, presently scout leader. I've been learning about backpacking since 1967, you'd think I'd be smarter by now. I like to fly fish when backpacking, take photos, and experiment with cooking, and enjoy the outdoors with my son and his scout friends. Presently 18.5 pound pack with fishing gear and camera, a big improvement for me.

down coat / sweater
I sure like my Western Mountaineering down coat. Expensive, but light and warm. I put on on my sleeping at night if I start to get cold.
