My Locale The Tetons (via Idaho)
About Me I divide my time between doing cartoon drawings at my desk in Idaho, and sleeping outside in the mountains. A few years back Don Ladagan called me up and asked me to draw instructional cartoons for his excellent book LIGHTEN UP! He was quite an inspiration, and I embraced his simple teachings. From that point on I became a weirdo zealot for a lighter backpack. In 2005 I spearheaded the very successful lightweight program at the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). Presently I’m working at Backpackinglight’s Wilderness Trekking School.

Alas - This isn't really a "list" of your gear. It is only a few items, and most aren't really all that light. As silly as it sounds, I am gunna suggest you buy a book. LIN...

Carry bear spray
There are a lot of Grizzly bears here in the Tetons. Carry bear spray - ESPECIALLY if you are running.

nice list
1) There is water EVERYWHERE so you could take a little less in the water bottle department. A one-liter soda bottle should be fine. 2) No need for TP, the North Cascades has a LOT of natural ...

I feel strongly that as long as you are clean, tidy and don't build fires, no ranger (or land manager) would ever complain. When I do "cheat" and camp in a non-designated site, I make...

a very simple spreadsheet
Just so y'know, the recipe and food chapters in my book turned out really well. Below is a very simple spreadsheet (from the book) for a 10 day solo-trip.
