If your compass is really 1.9oz (is the lanyard on there? Suunto says that model is supposed to be 1.2oz), and you don't really use it much, you could save an ounce by switching to the less awe...

Hm. I guess the difference between an ALOKSAK and an OPSAK is that the former has an impermeable seal, but the latter is sealed in terms of pores on the sides... And ziplocks are permeable everywhe...

Wishful thinking, probably, but might a dry bag be odor-proof, for improved bear bagging? (I don't really understand how most any old unpunctured ziplock bag isn't odor-proof, frankly.)

Montbell UL Down Inner Jacket
Fit is a bit loose around the body for a large, I think; other than that the amount of warmth it provides for so little weight is lovely. (And there I am wearing it in my avatar picture.)
