My Locale Arkansan in Seattle
About Me I have a tendency to buy the display item of pieces of gear that I want because, typically, they seem to be the only "smalls" that outfitters keep in stock.

My trail name, 'demo' comes from a display Thermarest pillow I bought that has the word DEMO marked in very large letters in permanent marker.

Re: Waterproof bivvy and down sleeper?!
I use a down sleeping bag and a UL water resistant/breathable bivy, but I always bring my tarp. The idea is that the tarp will shake off the tough stuff and my bivy keeps spray, dew, etc off the b...

TRADE: LS Zip BMW Vapr Bivy for RS Zip BMW Vapr Bivy
I have a left-side zip Bozeman Mountain Works Vapr Bivy that I would very much like to trade for a right-side zip version. I've used mine on several trips, but due to me babying my gear, it ...

I too received my pot today, although it was the 550 model without a handle. As like Ben, below are some hastily taken comparison pictures. Oberservation: 1) Lid fits as tight or tighter...

SteriPen Adventurer
My only complaints tend to line up the same as those from others. It seems, although I can't prove a shred of this, that they are in cahoots with Nalgene as bottles from said manufacturer are the...

Nice little piece of headgear here. Impressive how much warmth it adds when on your head. My typical setup is wearing a Tilly hat during an entire trip and adding the balaclava when I need some wa...

This is indeed a great little pack. On a past trip, one of my accompanying backpackers made a comment about how it looked like a oversized daypack...that made me smile. Don't let that generalization...
