"Sierra Snowpack 2015"
Billy: all good points. One must respect contracts and laws. Given the state of the drought, I'm not sure why it should take years to change laws...but of course it probably will. Again, Califo...

"Sierra Snowpack 2015"
"private enterprize" indeed. Almond and rice growers have won the lottery, water wise. It's never made sense to grow water intensive crops in a near desert environment. I wouldn't...

"Lost cost trail: like hiking on sand?"
Thanks everyone. I do acknowledge that my question is slightly ridiculous; hence the subject line. I've read a number or threads about this hike and don't recall a lot of discussion about t...

"Open-Ended Solo Trip in Washington State"
Between Wenatchee and Chelan, on the west side of the river, there's a road that will take you into a trailhead that gets you to Glacier Peak destinations. Sorry, I'm at work and can't ...

"Which new WIDE warm inflatable sleep mat, NeoAir Xtherm or Exped?"
I just received the Exped Synmat Medium wide. IT's 4 ounces heavier than the UL7 regular. I've only tried it out on my apartment floor, but it's pretty nice. 5 inches wider than the reg...

"Open-Ended Solo Trip in Washington State"
Tom: I was thinking that if Puppy Love was coming in over Cascade Pass, it's not too far to head down the Stehekin Road to the trailhead in to Glacier Peak. I forget the name of the river that ...

These boots really are a breeze on your feet. Unlike another reviewer, I found these boots to have terrific ankle support. However, the deal-killer for me is the relatively narrow toe box. Full disclo...
