My Locale Minnesota
About Me 43, and in some of the best shape of my life after losing 50 lbs a couple years ago. I've always loved getting "out there" and backpacking is one of my preferred ways. I spend as much time as I can backpacking and car camping with my kids during the Summer. I'm an avid target shooter and enjoy kayaking with my family, ATVing and snowmobiling, and just about anything that get's me in the outdoors.

Re: Re: Jock itch and wool boxer briefs..
+1 to Justin's comments. They're not cheap, but I've converted 100% to Merino boxers for daily wear and will never go back to synthetic.

Re: Attention Enlightened Equipment Enigma quilt users!
Well, other than initial quality impressions (which are excellent) and general fit comments, I can't say much about it yet since the temps in MN haven't broken 20F since I got it . . . I w...

Ask Tim
+1 on asking Tim directly, but FWIW I used Nikwax on my EE 10d Rev and haven't seen any problems associated with it. The new material he's using in the Enigma (and I think now the Rev) is ...

Yes it is. I'm pretty sure that he ends up doing double the mileage that I do. He runs up ahead and back behind, and back up ahead . . . He's well trained and knows not to get too far fr...

Say ya to da UP
I've spent a lot of time on a snowmobile in the UP, not only do I know what a Yooper is, but also a Troll.

Re: Superior
David, one word "wow". Fantastic pics, the colors are absolutely stunning. Next year I need to plan to hike a couple sections that first week of Oct. Art

SHT
It is a beautiful trail, I've only hiked sections as getting away even for a couple weekends a year sans family is tough. It looks nothing like you expect from Minnesota. The song is Wicked...

Enlightened Equipment Revelation X
This was my first quilt, and I couldn't be happier. I needed a new cold weather bag, so I went with the 20F 6' Wide and had the 30% over stuff. The loft on this quilt is incredible, more tha...

gossamer murmur
I would have liked to give the 2012 Murmur a 4.5 if I could have. My only criticism is that the stitching is not as well done as I would have expected. There were a few loose threads in some of the ...
