Re: Small stuff @David- he wants it for hunting, so the P-32 is really NOT what he's looking for. If he's willing to degrade himself by buying a Kel-Tec I would propose that a PMR-30 is better for his nee... |

VBL I've got to +1 that I think you're on the right track in thinking about a VBL layer. A VBL liner is cheaper and lighter but, yes, it's pointless to wear all of your clothes to sleep in... |

No experience with the PackRifle, but... I think it's also worth noting that when Ryan wrote that review he was still in his "stupid light" phase, so the Packrifle got major kudos simply for being the lightest .22 rifle avai... |

Re: Any thoughts on the upcomding ORU kayak? Ah, the LITERALLY folding kayak... I remember reading come commentary about it (or something VERY similar) on foldingkayaks.org when it was in development several years ago. Your link has a LOT... |

Other kayaks I'm a kayaker as well as a hiker, and I'll +1 the recommendation to not get a packraft. Well, actually, I guess I would just encourage you to figure out exactly what you want from your b... |

Ultimate Hiker's Gear Guide -Andrew Skurka book Wow, how to rate this book? It is NOT meant for someone who is already an experienced UL hiker. There is nothing in this book that someone like that doesn't already know or can find out in fiv... |

Klepper Double wood framed folding kayak I own a Long Haul Mark 2, which is a copy of the Klepper Double. Though the fasteners vary very slightly the Klepper frame can use the Long Haul hull-skins and vice versa. The guy who builds the Lon... |

Sawyer In-Line Filter I have a slightly different kit- the 0.1 micron 4-way filter. Of the filters available I give it a 5. It's not perfect, but IMHO it is the best that is available, hands down. The 4-way kit come... |

La Sportiva Crosslite Personally, I rate this shoe a 5/5 because I'm ecstatic to find a shoe that FITS! (I have mutant monkey-feet.) But generally it is probably a 4. Listen, ye, to my tale of woe... I just mov... |
