My Locale Wet & Humid Southeast....
About Me I have been backpacking a little over 3 years now, but in that time I have logged a number of trail miles and went through a lot of gear trying to find my sweet spot. Now, thanks to cuben fiber, alcohol stoves, down and of course a better understanding, my TPW has severly dropped! My cold weather BPW is 9 - 10 lbs and my warm weather BPW is 5 - 6 lbs.
About 95% of the time I hike with family or friends and in the SouthEastern states. My favorites places to get away are anywhere along the AT as well as in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Re: Zpacks Arc Blast: Max load carrying?
Honestly, I think the only way to answer this question is to load yours up with your anticipated load and go for a hike with it... As you may notice already, the answers will vary from person to pe...

Re: What shelter am I looking for?
I agree with the comments on the Yama Mountain Gear... particularly the Cirriform SW tent. I long wanted a Contrail, but the weight was a bit more than what I wanted, and I too wanted a cuben canop...

Yet another vote for GooseFeet Gear!
I am throwing in my vote towards the GooseFeet Gear down socks! These things are one of the best purchases I have made. Mine have 25% overfill, and are made with M50. Completely downproof, and not ...

Re: Zpacks multi-pack vs belt pockets
Like others, I also prefer to wear my Multipack low as opposed to on my chest. Wearing it as a fanny pack has been my choice, although, it can flop around. But, it is more comfortable as a fanny pa...

odor free 4 g tabs
Just for the record, I can't even detect a hint of smell from my 4 g tabs, which is only one reason why I prefer them over the stinky, fish smelling, 14 g tabs. Saying that, I have never shoved...
