My Locale Wet & Humid Southeast....
About Me I have been backpacking a little over 3 years now, but in that time I have logged a number of trail miles and went through a lot of gear trying to find my sweet spot. Now, thanks to cuben fiber, alcohol stoves, down and of course a better understanding, my TPW has severly dropped! My cold weather BPW is 9 - 10 lbs and my warm weather BPW is 5 - 6 lbs.
About 95% of the time I hike with family or friends and in the SouthEastern states. My favorites places to get away are anywhere along the AT as well as in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Re: Z-packs Zero Q's
I love all of my Zero's, and my Arc Blast. 2 of them are in the hybrid material, and the rest are regular cuben. IMO, none of them crinkle, but then again, I let the contents fill the pack out,...

Re: fiddly?
I use a ZPacks Solo Plus tarp & matching Hexanet, and I don't find anything to be fiddly about it... Set up is straight forward, and simple. I think it would be fiddly to those that are new...

Re: "Hotel" or "guest" style camp shoes
Haven't tried those... but my trail runners are a snap to put on, and are plenty comfy whether on the trail, or at camp. However, in colder months I will carry my Goosefeet Gear overbooties whi...

Re: Rolled xlite + 1/8 pad a framesheet?
I have been using the NeoAirs as my back support/frame.... whatever you want to call it, for the last couple of years. I got tired of rolling the pad up each morning and then stuffing it in the lit...

Re: Suunto Core v Casio PAG240-1
I can't say which is better... they both seem to be great watches, but neither are perfect... I have the Core and have been using it as my everyday watch for almost 2 years. This includes hikin...

Re: Zpacks Arc Blast: Max load carrying?
Honestly, I think the only way to answer this question is to load yours up with your anticipated load and go for a hike with it... As you may notice already, the answers will vary from person to pe...
