I pack two silicone muffin cups for steam baking. They're a little thin, but doubled over, or using two doubled over, allows a quick grab of hot handles without feeling too much heat.

Bryce, as you're waiting for confirmation - you could run two of the same types of lines, at the same angle, one with a stick or knot of some sort, the other without, pour water on each of them...

Duct tape is great for so many things, so maybe it would work? If it's a small hole, perhaps a patch of tape on the inside and outside. It might get you through until you can pick up a replacem...
