My Locale Wet & Humid Southeast....
About Me I have been backpacking a little over 3 years now, but in that time I have logged a number of trail miles and went through a lot of gear trying to find my sweet spot. Now, thanks to cuben fiber, alcohol stoves, down and of course a better understanding, my TPW has severly dropped! My cold weather BPW is 9 - 10 lbs and my warm weather BPW is 5 - 6 lbs.
About 95% of the time I hike with family or friends and in the SouthEastern states. My favorites places to get away are anywhere along the AT as well as in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Re: R1 will likely be enough and it's more versatile
I have been happy with my R1 and a long sleeve Cap 2 shirt in temps from the low teens to the mid 50's (while at camp as well as hiking). Thanks to its grid design and the deep zip, it breathes...

Re: Neoair for winter?
It all comes down to how you sleep. For me, I have used a regular size NeoAir with a 1/8" Thinlight pad to temps right above single digits. I had great results with this combo using the Thi...

Re: To neoair or not to neoair
One thing I can say about the NeoAir is that it usually stirs up conversations. Many seem to hate them while others seem to love them, then of course there are those few that simply like them. Afte...
