S P: "The insulation is slightly less, 40g/m^2 vs 50g/m^2, but with the way the MEC jacket is designed, it might be just as warm. Looks like it is slightly heavier but costs less" Are ...

Jamie, The new 2010 Jam now weighs 31oz, so the Peak is less than the Jam as you would expect.

2010 GoLite Peak
Until now, the only info I had heard on the new GoLite Peak backpack (little brother to the Jam) is from the BPL coverage at the outdoor retailer show which didn't say much more than the weight...

FWIW
FWIW, my 2009 Jam weighs 24.3oz (688g) down from 26.7oz (755g) thanks to removing the hydration bladder and trimming the straps.

Mountain Laurel Designs Cuben DuoMid
The DuoMid is the best shelter for solo hikers. Don't be misled by the "Duo" in its name - you could cram two hikers in here but it's poorly suited for that (ie. no vestibule space, ...

Spark-Lite Fire Starter (Survival Gear - BPL Gear Shop)
