Re: Questions on cuben
I talked to a sailmaker last summer, one that does a lot of custom work for racing sailboats. As a result, they do a lot of work with Cuben. They mostly use the same variant that ZPacks uses (.6 oz...

Re: Re: Re: Best way to pitch a tarp with a cantanary ridge?
Even having never pitched an a-frame before, it turned out to be easier to do than I expected. It just took a bit of practice. :) The first time I pitched a cat-cut tarp, it took me an hour or s...

Re: Quick comparison
I have an Echo II system, and I've used it a few times so far (not enough -- life has been making it difficult for me to get my backpacking fix in lately :(). It's easy to pitch and well ma...

Re: Tarp size for a big friend
Oware's 8x10 is around that price, and so is Bear Paw's. I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones I've looked at (recently got one of Oware's 5x8's to use as a cook...

Re: Practicality or a cuben fiber shelter?
I haven't attempted to teach my Cuben shelters anything, so I don't know about that part, but I only had trouble getting a taut pitch on my first try. Once I got the geometry right, it was ...
