My Locale South Australia
About Me Into Bushwalking in remote areas in Australia. Have completed alot of walks in Southern Australia, especially in the Flinders Ranges, but also some decent trips in Victoria, Tasmania, and Central Australia.

I also spend a lot of time in the field for work (arid areas) and am an avid Scouter!

Oh yeah, and I'm into cycling and photography too.

Re: Re: Possum Down heat resistance, Firelite 500, wood fire

Hi everyone. I am considering using a firelite 500 pot, with handles (when I get one) on top of a small woodstove. The stove will be very rudimentary-probably just a small stand (wire or Ti S...

Arc Bags and possum down
Duane and Jay, thanks for the advice. I am thinking then if I get a cocoon with hood that will be enough extra insulation with a Ghost at night. I still want another head layer, mainly for on cold ...

More questions about Arc bags
Hi everyone I have some Arc questions too so I thought I would tap in. Thinking about using an Arc Ghost with a Cocoon Pullover (when I can get hold of one) in the South Australian (Flinders ...

Re: PCT in October
Thanks for the reply Don! I later found a couple of sites on Joshua Tree, so now I am more orientated! Good to hear about the ice axe. I guess I would just have to make sure my tent is capabl...

Don, thanks for such an insightful trip report. I am toying with taking a year off post Uni and getting a round the world ticket, starting October 2007. Its highly likely I will stop in LA on th...
