lol until montbell rates their bags like all those eurobums ... id rather be conservative ... case in point being the summerlite which everyone says is very warm ... yet tests to 35F another ...

I doubt youd find a properly rated 32F synth bag at 1/2 pound ... Current technology doesnt seem to allow it ... Maybe a custom quilt the closest would be the mh ultralamina which is tested to 4...

id microbivy
only realistic choice would be event for use without a tarp methinks id microbivy can be had at mec for 150$ if youre a canucklehead i just picked one up ... seems top notch so far

one thing that was likely not tested in the en-rating was that you could move down to the top of a lot of WM bags ... at least i dont know if they test the bag in such conditions there are other...

Has it been as bomb-proof for you as I've seen others describe it?
only their old school rain jackets for me the newer lighter stuff has been no better than any other gear maker never pay retail for dead bird ... even on clearence its the same price as other...

i found the mercury mitts plenty warm with a light liner ... down to about -20+ C a few times i found myself climbing in them when it hit -25+C ... luckily i was following that time and didnt ne...

the key to using this jacket is to use it under a windshell or synthetic jacket like a nanopuff by itself the shell is fairly fragile, there are no pockets, there is no waist string ... however ...
