I may be dreaming here, but does anyone know of any motels at altitude within a few hours of Kings Canyon (North lake entrance, or even Cedar grove entrance) I was hoping for something at 7 or 8K ...

Arcteryx motus ss
The arcteryx motus ss wicks very well, is much lighter than wool (around 3 oz if I remember right), keeps you cool and handles odors very well. It's also not too form fitting.

Pepperoni stick in carbs
My new favorite is chopped up tillamook pepperoni stick in either idahoan mashed potatoes or couscous with some olive oil. Packit Gourmet's bangers and mash inspired me to make a simpler version.
