My Locale Minneapolis
About Me Grew up family car/boat camping and then Boundary Waters camping starting in my teen years and into upper 20s. Took up backpacking around 30 and in 2006 at age 32 started having knee problems which quickly put me down the road to lightweight backpacking... the transition is still ongoing and obsessively addictive even though I have pretty much resolved my knee problems.

RE: SHT Thru Hike - May 2009

Re: Moby Wrap
We also have a moby wrap as well... I never thought to use that. I might have to try that out on a day trip with a pack to see how it carries.

Re: Spring Gear List
I second that your list is pretty tight... I agree that the down pants might be overkill unless you need them to supplement your sleeping bag. My recent October trip saw temps down to 20F/-6C a...

We do have a Baby Bjorn as well which I've thought about using for my backpacking trip. I think I could put him in the front and a regular backpack on my back. It does have a 25 lb max, so I ...
