About Me The top of the mountain is more an afterthought than a destination for me. Its the trees and creatures, the weather and people along the way that make the walking good. It's why it's always so hard to come back down. And why, with the odor of days imprinted in synthetics, my coming back down is hard for others, too!

Re: Ketogenic diet as a way to lighten pack

Re: Ketogenic diet as a way to lighten pack
I have to disagree with this. I'm currently 130 lbs and 6-7% fat. That means I have 10 lbs of bodyfat total. If I were to lose ~6 lbs of additional fat I'd likely need to be hospitalized. ...

Re: paleo through hiking
Diane, that is a problem I am having, too. Still haven't figured it out yet. Hence the attempt at putting together a paleo recipe thread a while back. Hasn't been successful at all, even fo...

But unless I'm missing something, I can't possible see how your body will become more efficient and require you to consume less calories thus making your pack lighter. I suppose on a short ...

Re: Ketogenic diet as a way to lighten pack
Guess I hit a nerve. It doesn't really bother me what other people do and want to think; after all it's their body and health. However, I have gone through a hell of a lot of suffering a...
